2000 Dodge Diesel Turbo talk

I have a 2000 Dodge 5.9 Cummins diesel with the 5 speed that the turbo went out about 6 months ago. I have been looking off and on at replacing it.
I can get one off eBay for a little over $150; one off Amazon for $175 or RockAuto for $416.

even though it is more money I am leaning towards RockAuto; figured it would be higher quality and maybe more of a direct fit. it is an HX35W if my research is correct.

any thoughts from anyone on this?

I won’t recommend any Amazon turbo. Fleabay possibly if it’s a genuine holset. Are the wheels in good shape? Maybe just a rebuild kit? If majestic turbo in Waco is still around they could probably do it for you. They did a good job for a turbo of mine and a few others.

I would go with Rock auto.
Or you could find deals on ebay for take offs, plenty of people upgrading and selling barely used ones.
Problem is some think they have gold so browse a little first.
$416 is not bad for a new one.
I paid $600 for a used one last year

Did you ever find one? I have a stock one off a 2000 truck, about 100k on it, I’ll sell it cheap as the truck is gone if can help you.
