2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
You don't... But your missing the point... It's all about the "expo lifestyle" over on the portal.

FYI a roof rack would look cool up there.

I can save you some time...
Just buy my canyon. Going to get it put up for sale after the holidays.... Time to build my third expo rig... With the lessons I learned from my exterra and canyon..... Should be fun....

Canyon is too small for me. I will be towing with my rig as well.

And all seriousness, a roof rack could help deflect wind over the slide in camper

Not really sure.... it will be gm. But really it depends on what I end up getting out of the canyon. We are currently upside right to the tune of 10+ thousand on the canyon. Which most people are never really upside right on a vehicle. So that's nice. My wife said if the canyon goes we need to replace it with something. I asked her what and she said she wants me to build her a 63-65 nova wagon. So money will have to allow for that. (Initial purchase price- not overall build)

So that also allows the next one to be more of a dedicated camping rig. It will be a cheaper, buy it outright kind of deal. No payments. I just recently found a 5.3 trailblazer with 113,XXX miles for 4g's that peeked my interest some.. Not an idea platform but just different enough then everybody else's stupid jeep for me to like it...:D

OMG! That's a hijackoff that is totally worth it! That would be so fun to build for an expo rig...

I agree. Is this something you are suggesting that I buy (), or is this something that you plan to add to your fleet? Would be awesome. :thumb:

1966 c hevy suburban

fuel: gas
title status: clean
transmission: automatic

Old school bus..runs and drives great, 327 corvette engine, auto trans, glass all good, body little rust on lower panels, floors are solid, interior redone, custom dash and tilt steering, electric brake for towing, trailer hitch, extra hood and body parts to restore or hot rod,,everyday driver for me. Make offer

No, for me. I was thinking about platforms all weekend. Thinking about what I want and what I need. I couldn't decide on anything that really liked. So I started looking around again came across this. This was the first time I opened an add and knew this was the right thing for me.

This unit won't be the one I end with. But at this point I think I am going to put off my immediate plans for a rig in 2016 and build me something for the long term. Classic iron is really the only thing for me.

Right now my thoughts are a 64-66 suburban. I wouldn't rule out a panel truck either. Then I would probably get a gmt400 or gmt 800 frame WITH IFS to set the body on. Add a fresh 5.3 or LS something with a 4 speed or newer 6 speed auto. Nice wheels and some 32/33s. Nothing too big on tire.
Smallest lift I needed. Here a few random internet pics I liked. Suburban and carryalls.

I love the older burbs --my brother had a '66 that was two tone blue/white like the one pictured..had a tailgate though..barn doors rule!...

The '55 to '59 and '60 to '66 models were the best looking trucks ever made in my opinion...GM's anyway..I like the "eyebrow" hoods on the '61 and the wrap around windshield...the panel trucks are extra sexy IMO..

This green one was for sale not far from me earlier this year, for 12K...
The other pictures are some of my favorites I have seen online..the "stretch" limo ones were pretty cool--be plenty of room for gear and sleeping!.....and one guy put one on a 2 ton truck frame to use for a car hauler & sleeping/camping at the dragstrip..
