2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
First off, thread title changed. Needed to get the "expo" out of it.

Second, 4 pack is where it's at. Now to try this cobbled together, tired pack? Or buy a new set from general spring?

Eh, expo is the wrong word for this truck. Maybe more of an adventure rig.

I'm just worried these springs are too tired. Guess there's only one way to tell.

Didn't you just say that they were at the height that you wanted? Untired springs should be taller than saggy springs, no? So if you order the new 4-leaf pack, you may not be happy with the end result. :dunno:

My vote is for softer springs, not stiffer ones. You would like to enjoy driving this thing, right?

the leafs need to be swapped around .

#3 and #4 need to flip flop.

never to run a long leaf past a short leaf . it will tear them up faster and can be a bend / breaking point .

just info I was told by a guy that did spring work for over 30 years .

also try them out . worst case then buy new . its mockup stage and trial and error .

I'm with the others I say just run what you have, this way you can spend the cash on other stuff that may pop up and see what works best for now.

Got the leafs flipped around tonight and got new center bolts in. All the rest of the bolts are tight. Tomorrow is clearancing the engine x-member for the axle during compression of the suspension.

Didn't work on the truck tonight, but I did work on the axle that is going under it.

Pulled the unit bearings, axles, and knuckles. Ready for new ball joints.

Then started the truck because I miss the clatter...
