2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
Well, I guess I'll start with wiring. I put a new controller and GP's on last fall, so those should be good.

Very slowly. Start with it at the bottom of the adjustment range. Make small adjusts until you finally notice a difference. Due to different requirements of different applications, the adjustment won't do anything until you've adjusted past a certain point, and then small tweaks will yield results.

Tried to say that without giving the details away...

As we told you before, unplug each glow plug one at a time. Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance of each plug (connect one of the meter wires to the spade lug and the other to ground). The resistance should be nearly zero (0.2 Ohms is what I read on my new 60G plugs). If you can't find connectivity, the plug is burned out.

Yours being a 6.5, you'll have little pigtail extensions on the difficult ones. Kudos to you for having a modern round-body truck.

And buy yourself a soldering iron, too. Geesh. I drove 750 miles one way to have a wiring failure on your very doorstep. It was so nice to be able to dial the phone and say "Greg, I need to borrow your soldering iron." So nice. Until you told me that you don't own one. Then it wasn't very nice. :doah: :doah:

Don't do that again, you can't get yourself through life with crimping connections only. Wiring is the answer to everything. :deal:

Good answer. Descriptive and yet uselessly vague.

I like it. You should go into politics. :pimp:

Funny story, friend of mine found out while he worked at John Deere that when they have you modify or replace wiring for warranty they actually want you to use heat shrink butt connectors.

Wife is working this weekend, so I am on full time daddy doody.

Take the kiddos outside and have them play in the fluffy snow. Then poke yourself under that hood in 30-second intervals, coming up for air periodically to make sure they haven't lit the house on fire.

What's the worst that could happen? :pimp:
