2000 GMT400 CREW CAB SFA SWAP-The Warden: Fuel leak fixed and awaiting surgery…

The ultimate goal for this truck is tow duty/family camping trips/small offroad adventures.
So I'm throwing in the towel on these front springs. I just can't keep driving this around and beating myself up with how stiff the ride is. I will be trying a couple different things/spring combos out to see what will end up working. I really need to find a used set of 2" lift springs like @blazinzuk originally said.

I think more than him told you this . . .

I have a hard enough time just convincing myself of the price dag, there are far cheaper ways to get 2" of lift. :dunno:
That's why I have been keeping an eye out for some used 2" lift springs. I want to test the height before I spend all the monies on the good ones from ORD.
Have you called ORD and talked to them about what you want?

It is the family camping wagon ya know
I talked to Stephen for a while when I originally ordered all the parts for the swap. He wanted me to put some cheap springs in at first so we could get good numbers and measurements. I may just tough it out with these springs and go for the ORD ones this summer.

Tuff-country ez ride = bouncy ride. I took the overloads out of mine for a while, and the two main leafs got really soft after my Rubicon trip so put the overloads back in and the ride is about right now.

I came across a rust free white crew cab we have at an LKQ in Texas. I have the LH rear door coming for sure, waiting to see pictures on the LH front. My rear door is worse than the front. The rear is only going to cost $100. Should be bolt on and go.

This is the rust at the bottom. Bad compared to other regions? No. But for $100 and 10 minutes, I'll go this route.

Thought 1: Why didn't you buy the entire crew cab? :pimp:

Thought 2: You're gonna need a better picture of that rust. I don't remember seeing any when I looked at it, it must be pretty minor. :dunno: It's pretty nice when the rust is just on the replaceable part...super easy fix! :thumb:

Answer to thought #1: I don't need the rest. This truck is spotless elsewhere, well minus the whole "missing clearcoat thing".

I'll try to remember to snap a picture of the rust, but it started on the inside and has grown to the outside.
