2001 3500-HD / 2002 3500-HD - NEW build with 2002 truck now .

8.1 bbc vortec / nv4500 / 4.63 rear 1.5ton truck was a 12ft flatbed dump now 10ft flatbed dump .
Got the new cover on and sealed with permatex gear oil specific rtv for the dana 80 rear today . Filled with 75-140 full synthetic gear oil 4.23 qrt aspr @ZooMad75

Then i put togeter the rear hubs and rotors . . Thats a lot of beating with a 5lb hammer and punch to re-install the wheel studs .

Then i got the hubs on with new seals and axlws in and cover plates sealed with the gear oil rated rtv . Went to install the calipers and new pads and found a small stupid problem . . .

The wedge retainer we are use to on our c/k 30 trucks with the same calipers takes a different shape to these trucks .

Called my guy at the local dealer and he said discontinued items the spring and wedge . But gave me part #'s .

Looked them up on ebay and there on there way to me now .

Fixed the parking brake pull with parts from the doner truck as i got tired of vise-grips the 1st time i drove it .

Then i got my trailer hitch parts all layed out for cuts and prep for weld up . 3.5x6x5/16 L-iron for the side plates to the truck frame . Then 4x4x1/4 square tube for the main center tube . This will get a 2x2" receiver pre-made in the center passed threw both front and back face . Then 2 18,000 lb rated d-rings on the tube and a plate for the trailer plug . Using 3 holes alreafy in frame rail and adding 1 more per side for 8 total .

Making the hitch from stuff i already have or left overs . Yaa its beefy but so is the truck .

The yellow paint pen lines from 9ft to 12ft are what i was using to figure out the new bed length . it is a 12ft currently but going down to 10ft to make the hitch work better and still be able to dump . . . the new bed looks like mid to end of next week it will be mine . they are making room at my buddys new shop for the stuff on the truck its on to be stored and get me the bed .

Those stupid park brake handles always break. I've got a few of these trucks floating around at work and there's one that they always use the park brake on and every few months they break the stupid handle off.

One of these days I'll replace the handle on mine lol.

10ft bed, that's the same length as mine. Will you need to shorten the frame as well or are the bed hydraulics in front, moving the bed back enough?

had a rear tank but someone already pulled it . i am going to check if a g-30 van tank 40gal tank can fit or i am popping in a square body side saddle tank 20 gal i have with tbi pump i can wire to the stock pump to trigger it .

not sure on storage boxes on the truck yet .

would be nice but there the same calipers as our dana 60 fronts and i have a pile of them so its keep it simple setup for me .

Here is the pads i ordered 2 sets of for the truck .

I never noticed a difference in the wedges and spring clips. Rockauto has them. It even shows that the twin piston calipers use a different one. Could you tell what the difference was?

The width of the groove the wedge needs to sit on the bracket .

I will get some pics with measurements posted up .

got a walker 22865 universal HD muffler coming to the local parts store for tomorrow . i looked at the specs but they didnt give the center to center spacing for the 2 inlets . its easy to return if i cant use it easy .

i have a other walker option if i want 21533 if i want a more basic replacement muffler . but this is more tin cased over the hd muffler .

if i was a little crazy i have a pair of 26" long version of these in 2.5" size . . . http://classicchambered.com/classic/products.html
