I have a '99 Cherokee at work for my parts runner. 30x9.5 tires and an auto with 232k and it's still pretty peppy and fun to blast around in. It would make you sad to see how mint it is with zero rust and no oil leaks or burning oil.
The engines probably quieter than mine too. Damn 4.0's make more rattles than any diesel I've ever been around

I owned my Cherokee and the 6.5 at the same time. I definitely could not hear the jeep running if the 6.5 was lol.I haven't heard yours, but I'll wager good odds that two of our 6.x engines have been significantly louder and more rattly than yours...

Glad to see this thing is going to be a good trail rig. Such a great platform for it.
Nice!
What game was it trying to play?![]()
Little update from a couple weeks ago. Got sick of not having a dome light so despite the cold weather I made some forward progress. From the factory it mounts in some keyhole slots on the back and the front hangs from the headliner which I do not have. The tabs for the keyhole shaped slots were broken so out came the drill, some 1/4" hardware, an old u-joint strap, and a couple of big magnets.

While it's a bit ghetto it's not going anywhere and lights up the interior quite well. It was 15° outside while I was doing this so making it pretty wasnt a big concern.
Also got the crank position sensor swapped out due to a very intermittent stumble/stall. It still persists but there was a little bare wiring from mice that has to wait until warmer weather to fix.
