2003 Tellico K5 Krawl

Did search on Tellico camping and got lots of stuff.Tellico4x4.com had some good camps.Crawfords is the 4x4 camp on NC side of Mtn.Look at Murphy NC area for some cabin rentals too.most of them said they sleep up to 6 people and some are on the road to trails.They fill up quick for this week or so though.Hope it helps. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Got my Detroit for the rear now. In the process of installing along with new U-joints on driveshaft and going through the wheel bearings and brakes. Starting to look like we be gonna have good time!
 
Are you planning on meeting Friday or Saturday.....
By the way I'm at the Holiday Inn....
I'll be arriving late Thursday.........

O.k. here is a question for all. Where and when to meet. On Friday, I was thinking afternoon/eve somewhere in Murphy (say the Wal-Mart parking lot) look over rigs and intoduce ourselves, then get something to eat. On Saturday for a ride, how about meeting at the main Pay station parking lot on the NC side of Tellico? Some of us will be staying on Davis Creek and would have to back track to meet anywhere else. It would be on the way to the trails to meet there?

Any commments or suggestions?

Friday night sounds good to me, we should be arriving sometime Thursday afternoon......Any place to meet is okay.

The location for Saturday- that parking lot- can I drive to it with my Grand Am? How nasty is the access road??

What time are you thinkin for Saturday?

You should be able to get to it in your Grand Am no problem, its just a dirt/gravel road. Stay away from the edges. Sometimes it gets a little bumpy, but nothing a normal car cant traverse.

Sadly, I will not be able to make it, can't afford it. Two people were let go Friday and the rumor is that one more is going. With only 5 managers left and me being the youngest, I don't like the odds.
 
Sounds good about meeting up Fri night. Still njot sure if the K-5 is gonna make it. A buddy is coming with his k-10. My wife and kid have decided to come along too if she can get out of work. She is going to pull the Pop-up. We'll See. I guess we are getting back together so this is her way of saying she wants to be more involved /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif She is triing to take me to Alabama's fare well tour on thurs night so that threw a wrench in me getting there on thurs. Oh Well! Still aint sure on where to camp. Figured to just show up at a state park since I can't make reservations at them. Hope to see yall there! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
 
What are the limits are far as overhead clearance on the trails at tellico?On the average that is?I'm looking at an

If I can get my tranny issues straightened out, I will be there. You won't be able to miss me, I'll be the one with a huge permagrin on my face /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif because I have obviously just worked a miracle. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Well I just got off the phone with Crawfords Camp ground and she said they have plenty off room. They didn't know of any big ride going on that weekend so it should be pretty fun. I been trying to get the Blazer ready with some new mods. Pulled the carpet out today and welded multiple plates in where I had some holes /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. will be better now. I will put the Tuffy console in and hook up the Cb and scanner next. Still got to put the ram on and new steering box. Seems like I always scramble at the end. I guess that what makes it fun /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Put me down for a MAYBE. If I come Im not sure if Ill have the Blazer or not. Ill have to talk to a buddy and see if he wants to go up. He has a place to stay in Murphy, if hell go I am prob a definate.

Briefly, the wife brought me back to reality. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif No can do. Damn this house buying stuff. Its not bad enuff its stressful its killin my fun. /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

But when its all over Ill be scoring a few acres nearby where my buddies and I wheel. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Plenty of room for trailer parking and a shop at the house for OOPSIES. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif Ill be litterally 1 mile as the crow flies to the mud hole and sand pits I play in and about 3 miles from the forest we go to ride trails. PUUUURFECT! Infact Im calling the bank in the AM. Wish me luck. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
 
O.k. well since nobody has come up with anything better, lets all meet at the Wal-Mart Parking lot in Murphy NC on Friday eve. Say around 5 pm. Then we can all get some quick dinner at one of the local spots and maybe put in a small night run. On Saturday morning lets all meet at the NC Side pay station, it has a good size parking lot and should allow us to take some group pics and get setup for trail rides.
