2006 Build up

mine should be pretty close except for the 700r4 and d60 front

95 tbi 454,th350
still trying to figure out how to get the d44 stronger, looking into yukon chromly shafts

currently running 40's but thinkin about 42 irocs
I havent had much trouble breaking axle but spit out alot of ujoints. So if I upgrade joints I want better shafts.

The problem I have is that something has to be the weak link but what do I want it to be? what is the cheapest , easiest thing to fix? I know I should put a 60 in it but I'm sick of people telling me I NEED a 60 to wheel. I'm just to damn bull headed!! lol
Sorry about hijacking your thread

No worries about the highjack, it's all about give and take on here.
As for weak links... get rid of them all lol
Good luck on your build,
Make sure you post up and keep us upto date on your build
Regards
Ryan

Been a while since I've posted. The truck is back together now and I have 1 run under my belt this year already :). The truck worked very well and the upgrades worked better than expected. Here are a couple shots that I have of the truck. I will take more and post them up a bit later.
Just a little recap as to what I did this year.
I swapped out the 350 for a 454 (TBI) installed a reverse manual valve body in the 700r4, full hydro steering, dual optima batteries, autometer gauges, art carr shifter, electric fans and a couple more things I'm not thinking of right now. tell the next reply....

Are the dual batteries hooked to eachother or do you have them where you can swap it over when need be?

My batteries are hooked together, I didnt have time to hook up a isolater, may do it in the future but not a priority as of right now

Thanks man
Yes I have 63's in the rear and 52's up front. Looking forward to linking it now as I'm getting tired of repacking my springs after every other trip as they get worked over pretty good each trip.

Need more pics! Definitely need more pics!

the specs on the 454 are 230 hp and 385 lbs torque.thats before headers cam etc.i just got a 87 454 tbi that i will be installing in my jimmy.

What kind of fans did you install? Did you swap radiators for the 454, or keep the old one from the 350? I need a new rad. and some fans, so I'm collecting ideas and costs. Thanks!

I used a 4 core that i had rebuilt (new tanks) and the fans are out of a 96 windstar. A 2 core aluminum rad I'm told cools as well as a 4 core but seeing as I had the 4 core, I chose not to get the aluminum one right now.

how much did your PSC steering goodies cost? who'd ya get them from?

btw, you sure you want a 700R4 behind a 454?
