2006 Rubicon Unlimited

Ouch!

The rubicon ones work when they are working but the rear is a limited slip when it’s not locked and the limited slip gears break and then get jammed in the locker and basically make it a spool. It’s almost impossible to buy parts for them short of buying the complete assembly for $1500

I had ordered a set of the Revolution Discovery shafts from Northridge4x4 and when they arrived, 4 of the studs were missing.

I installed the drivers side a few weeks ago to replace the shaft with the cut seal surface. Northridge4x4 got the replacement studs shipped and after a tour of the ENTIRE USA, they arrived.

Today I got the passenger shaft installed. The I started assembling the parking brakes from scratch. After getting the passenger side assembled wrong, pulling it apart and starting again, I realized that with the larger flange on the Revolution shafts, you have to pull the shaft to get the parking brakes assembled.

So, I pulled the shafts, assembled the brakes, and got it all working.

Next I replaced the damaged front wheel bearing bolts, greased everything and rotated the tires.

Been a bit. Wheeled a couple times, have had issues with the transmission shifts and the random CEL for the crank sensor.

Broke down and ordered the Wranglerfix PCM. Installed it last night after work and it fixed the shift, runs smoother and seemed like it wasn't suffering at 65mph/2600rpm.

Getting it inspected now and I'm off on a 7hr drive to Emerald Isle to visit a buddy down there. Fingers crossed!

Emerald Isle, NC? How long you going to be there? CK5 NC meet up? @Big Ray and someone else in Newport (forget the name), I can look at flights and swing by if you’ll be there over the weekend (I’m in Morehead City monthly & can bump up my date). I’m not sure if there is anyone else.

I’ll be in a car, my truck is halfway wired.

Jeep made the trip in fine style. I've wanted to drive to the beach in a Jeep with the sides rolled up for almost 30 years. That dream came true Friday.

Got Mothers Day stuff booked for Sunday, Dr appts Monday
After that im available.
OH crap. I am visiting a buddy and will be leaving Monday morning. But, it won't be the last time I'm here. This place is great.

I'll set up with y'all next time and make it work.

Wife gave me the weekend pass for Mother's day since she's working this weekend. Been trying to visit my buddy down here forever and our schedules finally worked out. He's been going through a bad divorce so we're just doing the getting out and exploring and stuff he hasn't been able to before.

:waytogo: Way to go for being a friend for him right now. Let us know if you’re back in the area. Even with all the changes over the past 30 years I still love the area.

Almost 6 hours of the return trip wrapped up. No hiccups except one Crank Position Sensor code and missfire around Raleigh a couple hours ago. As quick as it happened, I cycled the key and drove 20min without issue.

Stopped to use the restroom, cleared the code and it hasn't happened again since.

Otherwise it's been getting about 15mpg and run like a top!

Finished up the 4" lift on my Jeep today.

Now I need bigger tires.

Sent my most recent oil change out to Schaeffer oils for analysis. There is no TBN on the analysis sheet and I'm having trouble sussing out if the oxidation numbers look "good" or not.

I know the silicon is high but I'm suspicious of the dielectric grease I sealed the intake tube to the throttle body with.

Things have been so busy lately I have had a lot of little things to do sitting, waiting on me. Saturday was my day. The girls all went shopping so it was me and Cocoa lounging around. I swapped the other front LCA around on the Jeep and got the wheel spacers installed.

I cna now grease all the front suspension joints properly. Before, the castor adjustment slots in the lower axle end mounts allowed the grease to just pump out beside the bolt instead of pressurizing and flushing the joint. Now with the forged end down and the grease fittings removed from the bolts, I can grease them and my squeaking is gone.

I'm hoping I can get to dropping the fuel tank to fix my leak and clean up the underside of the tub soon, before the cold gets here.

That happened to my ram 1500 every 2 years like clock work. Didn't seem to matter where I filled up, or what part I put in for the fuel pump. that plastic top would crack every time. Finally got rid of that fn truck.

My axle is whining. Mainly during cruising throttle. Let off or go full throttle and the whine drops way way down. Thought it was the t-case but pulled the rear shaft and drove it and the whine was gone.

Any suggestions? Thinking it is pinion bearings too tight but this is my pattern.
