Hey guys, I had a weird encounter today. I took my 2007 suburban (my daily driver) on some house hunting, and left it in the neighborhood for about 1.5 hours. When the outing was done, I got back to the Burb and here's what happened:

As soon as I opened the driver door, the chime went loco like it does when you forget the lights are on, no interior lights came on either.
As soon as I turned the key to ON, "Service 4x4, Service Charging System" came on the info screen, the windshield wipers started going, and my battery gague read dead zero, but I had plenty of electrical power
Turning the key to start did nothing, no clicks no turning, nada

All fuses and relays were good, and I obviously had power because of all the things that were working correctly (windows, wipers, radio, electric locks, etc)
So I get a ride home 15 mins one way, get some tools and come back another 15 mins. Then the truck started like nothing had ever happened?!!

Has anyone seen anything like this??

Check the voltage on all the circuits. A bad ignition switch can cause low or no voltage to different circuits at the same time, and it can be totally intermittent.

I would also scan computer with a good scanner like a tech 2. It may have a passive code stored that doesn't kick a check engine light.

I'd check the battery terminals and cables for corrosion..
Then see if any fusible links look like they got hot--bubbled insulation,corrosion,etc..if one fails or has been wounded,it can cause low or no voltage to certain circuits..check the grounds too..
