2012 CARNAGE thread

smashed a rear quarter window out on the pass side, made a fan bolt touch the radiator and put a little hole in one tube. Window was no big deal, put some two part stuff yates had on the radiator, ate some lunch and didn't leak the rest of the rusty crack run or on metal masher.

Have you posted the video from the radiator leak yet?

Almost forgot to mention, I broke a main leaf on my front 52" spring pack. I also managed to break one of the leaf spring studs off of my dana 60. It had been cracked for a while before it broke.

I think that's the least damage I've ever had at a blazer bash :haha:. It only took a couple hours to fix and I even had a spare leaf spring pack at camp.

Yeah matt put it over in the pic thread on page 11 or 12 iirc. Also YouTube and on Facebook. Radiator didn't leak that night or at all on Metal Masher next day.

Did anyone get any pictures of the weld job we did on a driveline on the Trifecta ride? First time I used the on board welder and it did great! I had to read the instructions and I guess that impressed all the women on the trip:D Women are not suppose to see guys reading instructions!:haha:Lol
The Driveline held together all the way out!!!
We had a good Redneck fix on the Red Blazer to solve his Axel wrap on Trifecta ride also that I believe someone took pictures of. D Rings, Bolts, some clamps & Duct Tape got him out!!! Lol

Well I removed my front passenger marker light and clearanced the fender, lost some paint on the rear bumper, bent the tierod, broke both front spring centering pins, spit out a tapered wedge.

I know there were a bunch of pics taken..... Chris did a great job after that, he picked up how to bump it easy and drive with a lot less throttle. He only had to be pulled over Back Scratcher because the carb wasn't happy with that much angle.

Oh and just letting you know if your truck didn't have a name, the guys started calling it Thumper. That 555 sounds good.

He doesn't have a choice if it got named it is named. Like I would pick "Twinkie". If you don't know Chris yours is "The Fly"

COOL! Thumper it is!!:woot:Your right, Chris kicked butt the rest of the trip!:waytogo:

first is where balancing weight flew off
2nd and third are where I used 2 part epoxy to hold clip in since the lip was sheared off.
4th is just damage to the CV housing
5th is dent and hole in muffler that was put on Wednesday before the bash.

#1 is dent in new tailpipe from U-joint bolt hitting it.
#2 is broken tab on bottom of rear axle yoke from when the driveshaft let go.
#3 is missing clip at rear axle that came off sometime during last 40 miles of trip, Lucky I didn't have a mishap!!

Then today when I was removing rear drive shaft, I had all the bolts loose and was about to pull the shaft away from the rear axle when a light bulb went on....

Since you have the front axle in neutral and hubs unlocked, and rear axle is in high at the transfer case, if you remove the driveshaft at the axle there is nothing holding the vehicle in place on your sloped driveway and your legs are sticking out sideways between the front and rear tires. So I let go of the driveshaft got out from under the vehicle and chocked all 4 tires.

That driveline going "Pop" was kind of a cool noise!

Makes mine wiping out ALL of the bushings on the front half kinda lame
