2012 Honda Odyssey problem

So today the "check engine light" came on with an "emissions" and "vsa" code
Or vehicle stability assistance.

I read could be catalytic converter going bad, bad O2, or.... a myriad of other things.
The vehicle is due for an emission test this months as registration is due.


it brakes and corners fine but normal driving is odd.

2012 Honda Odyssey touring with 179,000 miles.

What causes this?
What is the solution?

I've read when both come on simultaneously that the engine is burning oil and spark plugs need replacing. But, I guess I can pull a plug and check.

Or if it's fine to drive with VSA on I can just get it to the mechanic who works on all my newer vehicles when I can't.

And yes, I already checked the gas cap and it's on tight.

been reading it is most likely cylinder ring issue.

I don't know exactly. Wife brought it home but I may need to go to autozone or rent their scan tool. I've also read this issue may not be located with the autozone type scan tool

you can drive with the stability assist like on. It will default, to no traction control. Smokey burn out time . Kidding about burn outs. Abs may effected too, but brakes will work. So with the vsa light on you Pilot is now a Japanese K5. the check eng light might have been commanded on be cause the VSA has an issue.

another car ?? the short bed needs paint. No I'm being silly. If the car works for you and the repair is reasonable, and passes emissions. Keep it. Now if you have a line on nice used car that isn't over priced that you like then sure sell it. But people want stupid money for used cars today

I plugged in the scan tool but nothing happens I only get this screen then none of the buttons work and the only screen I get is this
I push read and it just beeps nothing happens
