I've been looking for the youtube videos but no one has uploaded them yet. Hopefully soon.

I've heard from a few people that it sucked. Worst year yet. But I want to see more videos.

Well I wasn't there unfortunately but I would assume it wasn't as good because the record last year was 169 and this year it was 141. Sounds like the bucking hill wasn't as good this year

Well sorry about that. Just joined the forum a few days ago. I have a relative who works for sandflix and the videos and photos aren't back yet. Once I figure out how to upload pictures and I get em you guys will be the first to know sorry bout that :waytogo:

I don't understand, they have way bigger dunes than us, yet the hills they choose for jumping contest really suck... Off camber with another hill right after it... :dunno:

Unless that's the point.

It makes no sense to me. In m oponion where we jump at our dunes would be just as big of a deal. But I guess not and from what I know the state got all up tight about it last year and this year they got told what hill. Where to camp and had certain parts of the dunes divided into campgrounds.

My neighbor sent me this one pic:

My buddy that went said it was a **** show. Poorly orginanized and they picked a horrible spot to do it.

Pismo is such a small place anyways.

Yup, Mike and Frank put on a show. Good thing they showed up, that's for sure. I drooled over the white GMC crew cab in the vendor area. It's definitely an incredible ride.

The hill was fine. Wind was a BIG factor this year. It just plain wouldn't die down and safety was a concern. The last couple jumps I saw trucks got dangerously sideways in a barrel roll.

Don't believe most of what you read. There are a TON of haters that like to follow everything Huckfest does and tear it to pieces. Last year there was a little dip in the landing area but it was pretty far back. Honestly I don't think anyone anticipated it being an issue but it was.
This year was great as far as the location. Plenty of spots to park and watch where you could see the face of the dune as well as the landing area.

Like I told Adam, the jumping location was fine. Who picked it I don't know but if anyone is blaming it on that they're just making excuses.
No idea who told you about dividing dune area into campgrounds. I was there and that's just not true. It's Pismo, you can camp anywhere you want.

Again, not true. I wish there could have been more jumps but the organization was fantastic as far as handling the volume of people that showed up. They bypassed the kiosks at both the north and south entrances and had nice big areas that a tractor drug flat down on the sand so you could stop and air down. Then you drove down the beach and they had big lanes setup like you were crossing the border. That's where they scanned your ticket and gave you a sticker. It moved fast and worked well.

Silver lake has 600 acres of ORV area.... Is it bigger than that?

Oceano dunes (aka Pismo) is 3,500 acres total but during certain times of the year a large section is blocked off for some stupid birds that nest there. Even then it's about 1,000 acres at it's smallest.

Some pics from this weekend... I got mostly crowd shots because I knew there were a TON of pro photographers getting all the action that has already made its way onto Facebook and a number of automotive related sites...

My friend getting hassled by the rangers for not having a flag. :)
