Ok, I'm back in action on CK5. Yes, I was home for a week and Kim and I had a ton of running around to do, including finalizing the sale of the BC property (the new owner took possession on Nov. 7th). On top of that, I came back to Inuvik and had to deal with an issue with our production facility and some fun and games with a supplier who is acting like a spoiled child. Sorry for leaving everyone hanging........
We weren't getting very many pic submissions in early October, so Kim and I held off opening the calendar sales page. I was hoping for a last minute rush of emails (seems to happen every year), but it didn't amount to much. We simply didn't get enough to choose from and as a result, we won't be going ahead with the Rigs calendar for 2019. To put it in perspective, there were years when we would receive 50+ submissions, and this year only 19 people bothered sending in pics. Of those, there were several outstanding calendar-worthy shots, but with 15 pages to fill, there weren't enough to ensure a high-quality final product. That being said, I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to send in their pics. Hopefully next year we get more participation from the Brotherhood and tradition of the annual Rigs of CK5 calendar can resume. 2019 would have marked our 16th edition.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel, however. Bent77 and I were collaborating on a Blazer Bash calendar in October but I couldn't devote enough time on my end (tons of pics to sift through). Mark did his part but I wanted to make sure we didn't miss any spectacular pics and I wasn't able to set aside the time needed to go through all the BB pic threads. Although we're running out of time, there's still a chance a Rigs of BB calendar could get built. I know it may not have the same appeal as a general CK5 calendar, but stay tuned for more.
