203>205 Transfer case swap.

That 203 is no joke weight wise. 205's weight isn't to be scoffed at either but it is lighter.

Y’all dumb as hell lol
I was the definition of young and dumb.
Not intellectually, that I was at the top of my class but the dumb dangerous things young guys do just because they can.
I should have been dead ten times over, but I guess I was not done with my time on this earth.
Just for those who don't know me, I am not a big guy, 5'11" 170 lbs.
Just athletic and full of energy

Just because something can be done does not mean that it should be done - examples: fat chicks and spandex, driving on twenty year old dry rotted tires or wheel’n a truck with 44” tall tires on 10Bolt axles or tell’n your wife that her sister is smok’n hot…All are possible but none of it is a good idea.

Get good help manhandling a 203 - it’s heavy and there’s no need to try and be a hero seeking bragging rights.

I thought that I was ten foot tall and bulletproof when I was young by lifting extremely heavy parts around instead of using a hoist as I should have and now I pay for it every single day of my life with back issues.
Work smarter not harder comes into play here - because it ain’t worth it !

Now that my days off have passed, this project is put on hold for the time being .. ORD doesn't have the fastest shipping... but it does look far better than the "good used" one.

Yeah your better one is just good enough but you also don't use it that much.
If you get to a point where you will be using it and abusing it and going far to where you might get stranded then change it.
In the meantime this could be good for 10 years. It just will have some play and that when abused will get worse unit it shears all the splines, no small feat.

I dropped one off a floor jack, while it was on it's way out and down. left 2" deep by 4" wide divot in the asphalt spec'd to park 26k and up trucks on. Last one I messed with, except moving it around for storage

I will say when installing a 203 into my Blazer the first time it did fall off the transmission jack even being strapped... it's ridiculously heavy.

I split my 203 into pieces when I pulled it to be rebuilt 30 years ago.

But I did press the 205 into place when I put the doubler in 22ish years ago. And I look back and shudder at the thought of dropping that on myself.

What we do when we're young and dumb......

Yeah I know better now, I bought a 2000lbs transmission jack and lifted up the whole combo 700r4/203/205 doubler, the only problem was my steep driveway so I had to ratchet strap the transmission and as I went up fine tuned it to get in place and push forward to engage using the strap. Took about an hour to get it on place and secure it with on cross member then continued buttoning it up.
