What is normal for a 203 to shift like?

My 208 shifts so easy is seems like it's not working. The 205s i've had before shifted Ok i was happy enough.

I got this old 77 Given to me with a Th350 / 203 Transfer case.

It is hard to shift...How are they for everyone else?

Does anyone even use one anymore unless it's in a doubler!??

Most likely the shifter is VERY dirty and gummed up! If so, it will work a ton better if you pull it out, tear it apart, clean, grease , then check adjustment when it's back in.
Then try to make sure that it doesn't get contamination too fast . ..

That's what I was thinking too Thanks!
This truck is not very nice! Lol!

So they normally shift as good as any other of the cases that came with our trucks?

I am not sure if you can make the factory shifter work as nice as the others .
Twin sticks would be great !
I would think that if you got it working as best as you can , and since you say that the truck isn't really nice , you could just spray penetrating oil from the top and bottom for maintenance . .?
My Dad's got crap thrown up to it during hunting seasons . .. it needed better protection . ..

Yeah the truck is a pile, but I have enough parts to make it kind of cool!

Plus I gave it to my 15 year old son. I will make him clean and lube the shifter! :D

don't fall down that slope / rabbit hole .. .. . .

I got 5 trucks and car projects with a 2 atv's . . . :yikes:

What kind of an attitude is that!? :D

Haha Yeah I`ve been there before too...but he wants to learn how to weld panels do bodywork and make a cheep 4x4, who am I to stop him! :saweet:

Didn't get enough bodywork from the first one?

Maybe I should let you borrow my rigs one at a time. That'll keep ya busy for quite a while. :D

OEM shifter in '74, never even thought about it once in 24 years I have had it, certain my grandpa didn't think about it either in 18 years he had it, shifts fine.
