Looks home made to me. Two flat GM crossmembers with a plate between them.

Thats Factory, had them in both my 76 K5 and 77 Jimmy, both had a 203.
Hard to find nowdays, maybe a junkyard.

My 1979 with a NP203 came with one from the factory. I have a couple in the basement.

I agree, it's factory but I couldn't tell you what the magic application was to get them. It does seem like the only trucks I've seen with them were mid 70's.

willing to part with one, this may have prevented my epic fail at blazer bash:doah:

Your best bet is to find one at a junkyard or Craigslist. It is basically two stock crossmembers with a piece of 1/4" steel plate with some bends in it. Some rear crossmembers have a frame spacer because the frames are not straight where they bolt on.

How strong is it. I bent the crap out of mine on that minivan. I wonder if I should grab it?

My '75 Sub/Crew Cab has one, it came factory with the th350/np203 combo. It now has a 465/205 and it fit that combo fine.

Not bad, I had to take mine out a few times to bend it back but I was on the skid plate often.

I considered trying to give mine away when I did my doubler stuff but it was pretty tweaked.

I would say it's among the best factory skid plates I've seen on a GM.

Definitely factory stuff. Here's a picture of the setup I had on my old rig-

I ended up having to remove the passenger skid to clear the notch for the front drive shaft. A older GEN1 465/203/205 ORD Doubler made for a front drive shaft longer than the rear. lol

I don't remember where I got the parts or what trucks they came from, I just had 4 or 5 different crossmembers, mocked them up to find a setup that worked and went with it.
