I know I will get bashed for this.. :o But how many of you guys have clocked your cases down to get a front driveshaft in your truck?. And about how far can you go with the ring from diy?

I Finally found a th350/np208 combo for my blazer and it is going in soon.
I know, why not a 205 right? Well everyone I have talked to around here has had good luck with 208's and they have many parts cheap and available, such as a clocking ring (about 65$ compared to about 160$ for a 205 clocking plate I found)

So Anyway, What are you guys with 10"+ lifts doing for front driveshafts if you clocked your case down?
It almost seems that if it goes far enough down that a stock cv with a little clearancing may work.
Well any input would be great.
Thanks guys.

I have a clocking ring that I bought for my 208 from diy4x if you need one. I bought it but I ended up getting a good deal on a 400/205 combo so I pulled the 400 and 208. I will sell it for $60 shipped. It is brand new never even bolted it up.

This isnt a for sale forum:deal:

Drop the t-case, cut the knuckles off and rotate the pinion, build a 2 piece front shaft like mine, or spend lots of $ at HAD. Any of these options will work.

Well it will be dropped an inch and clocked down.(I figure thats going to be the cheapest route) Does anyone know about how far down the ring will clock it?

The clocking ring will only work to clock it up not down. You could drill and tap new holes to clock it down though.

Anyhow, cut and rotate the knuckles, get the pinion rotated up as much as possible. If you are running a D60 though you will run into problems with the spring pad. You can also do a D60 joint front driveshaft like I am working on now. It will go to about 42 degrees.

I guess I didnt notice that the DIY ring only clocks up. I Did find this one on ebay that will go up or down.

I am not too sure about rotating the pinion because of the way the front passenger spring is mounted to the housing. And I dont really know how to do it where you cut and re weld to just get the pinion up. I have heard of it being done, but never had experience doing it.

You can use ours that way you just need the opposite one. passenger drop t case, use a drivers drop clocking ring.

Awesome, I really was not too sure of the quality of that ebay ring.. I wanted to order from yall because of the badass disc brackets I got a while back.

One question though. About how much can It be clocked down with your ring?
