Im intrested in this too. Mine does the same thing but out of 4 low and into 4hi
Hop under the under the truck.....
Locate Transfer Case.
There is a "shift rod" that comes out of the top of the TC....
It connects to the "TC
shifter rod", via 2-nuts.
Loosen the nuts.
Shift the TC, by hand, into 4HI. (all the way toward the front.)
Then shift the TC SHIFTER into 4HI.
NOW,
Adjust the two nuts, so you have a decent amount of pressure holding the TC rod in place....
The reason it slips out of 4HI, is the lack of "pressure" from the shifter rod.
The pressure holds the TC shifter in place.
It took me 3 adjustments to get it to "click" in....
You want the click!
fwiw, mine hasn't popped out since.
(If this doesn't stop the problem, you have a Range or Thrust Fork issue.)
Fork issue means rebuild... I know where to get ALL the parts, if need be.
*Most sites list "rebuild kits" that don't include ALL the Needle Bearings, or fork pads.
