Fininshing up the rebuild on the 205. I currently have a 700/208 combo and want to install the 205. I've got the 350 adapter and the spacer for the trans. What crossmember will I need to use for the 700/205 combo. I believe the 350 adapter is much taller than the 208 adapter that I have. I've tried to search, but all of the combinations has confused me a bit. Would I be better off just building my own crossmember? Pics of any other 208/205 swaps would be great as well. Thanks

Im sure your aware, but your going to be losing a lot of low range switching to the 205.

That being said, I love my twinsticked 205. Front wheel drive burnouts are fun.

Yeah, I know I'll be losing a bit of low range, but I think the twinstick capability and strength upgrade are worth it.

Now if I can just find the crossmember I need

This is the only one I have, but I can take another one tomorrow when I go to my shop, if needed.

Is this the crossmember needed? (the flat one). I'm using the tall 350 adapter, not sure if there is a short one.

It looks close to what mine is. Mine does look like the ends curve up more. I also have some spacers between mine and the frame.

1/2 and 3/4 ton use flat with curved ends.

the true 1ton truck frames use that one pictured almost dead flat. as the frame is 2" taller basicly over the 1/2 and 3/4 ton stuff.

but you are getting warmer . . .
