What are you budgeting for BB this year? I'm gonna shoot for $1000 :eek1:
454, 465, 4.11s and 235s on the tow rig - 383, 465, 5.13s and 38s on the trail junk + lead foot = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in gas! :doah:

I'll be lucky to go this year , its a logistical nightmare now that I have a trailer camper , and a buggy that needs to be trailered .

I budget ~$300 in fuel plus food (Moab brewery :D), camping, and some extra $$ in case SHTF.

I don't have all that far to drive though (340 miles) and the tow rig is relatively efficient.

I paid around $260 for diesel when I towed the blaze to jeep safari in March, and that was when diesel was $3.99..... I have only 250 miles of road between My house and Moab:D Luckily one of my good friends has a house with a nice lot for me to stay at to save on $$.

Who cares what the cost is to have a killer time in the wheelin mecca of the world:laugh: with great people!

For reference, when I drove out there from CA, it's almost exactly 1000 miles each way. Here's the breakdown:

250 miles per tank of gas x 1000 miles = 4 tanks of gas each way
---------------------------
21 gallons x $4.00\gallon = $84/tank
---------------------------
4 tanks of gas at $84 = $336 one way
---------------------------

= $672 Round trip total (not including around town gas money)

I'm expecting better mileage this year with an overdrive tranny.

$0......

Not planning to go this year but.....

See how things go within 2 months of this event.

You will suck if you DONT go!! And Pauley I don't want to hear any excuses from you either!!! Stay in a cabin or hotel like the rest of the people towing their trail junk  :D

Hmmm only 160 miles for me, so just in gas I will need maybe $200 if gas gets really high :D

Then comes all the spare parts and break stuff money :doah:

We spent nearly $1000 last year and didn't get started on a BB08 savings plan in time for this year. Maybe next year. I do think a cross country tour like JMS posted about would be fun for someone not wanting to rock crawl everyday. Oh and I only travel around 100 miles to Moab.

There is absolutely no way for me to afford getting my blazer to Moab this year. Im now looking at flying and riding along with some people.

We shall see i guess.

You can't not go just because you need to justify monthy payment on your camping trailer. If you don't go for that reason then the camper trailer is just going sit at home any way. Unless you plan on camping in the trailer the very weekend of Moab...IN YOUR BACK YARD! So you might as well drive or trailer the truggy dammit!:screwy:

Travis, I was telling the rest of the guys that we need to be resourceful and find someone with a semi with a long flat bed or car hauler to tow the rigs. Then we can all pile in a van.

it was 3600 miles round trip for us last year, we averaged 10-12 mpg with the CTD. still deciding on this year who knows where fuel prices will be come BB08
