Is the only difference between a 27 spline 241 and a 32 spline 241 the mainshaft? So can I just replace the 27 spline shaft in my 241 w/ a 32 spline so I can mate it to a t400? Anyone done this or know if it will work?

I THINK the main shaft is the only difference but I definantly don't know for sure.

I have talked to the guy's at JB Conversions and an engineer at NVG and they both stated that the input gear on the 2.72 planetarys will interchange - so it looks good for your swap /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

So to make sure I understand all I need is the mainshaft and just rebuild my tcase with the 32 spline shaft. The input gear was the other part I was wondering if I needed to change. Thank you for your time. Now I just need the adapter and then a tranny. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

The mainshaft ( or out put shaft of the transfer case ) will not effect the change of the input gear on the 241 .
Or are you talking about the rear output shaft of the tranny ?
If so than you would need the input gear for the 241 that is 32 spline and the adapter along with matching tranny output shaft .
Does this help ??? Tom

Is it the input gear that I have to change to 32 spline to mate my 241 behind a 400

Yes the 32 spline shaft will swap right into your 27 spline case. I did the swap pb a year ago when I swapped a 4l80e into my blazer. Good luck

All you need is the 32 spline input gear. It will swap right in place of the 27 spline. I did it on mine.
