Chevy Dump Bed - PTO from TH400/NP205, Other specs coming in

I ordered vinyl floor cover from http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/

It comes with the padding/insulation which I need as I would like some temperature and noise control.

I am not sure I want the expense of dynamat - is there a decent spray on product I can use under the padding? I am thinking of the thick black stuff you put on fender wells and frames, the name escapes my very tired (weak at best) pea-brain.

Kilmat from Amazon is a good price and one box covers alot.

Since the truck has load winches I am researching straps and the tying of them. I came across this video and I learned a lot! Did you all know this already? :rotfl::rotfl:

I put the tunnel back on before I thought about taking pics of the th400 for identification purposes… :doah: Not an easy job now with the vinyl flooring, fok.

There’s not much to look at from the top, you can gather all the identifying info needed from the underside (pan shape, converter cover mounting flange, tag on the side).

OK. I just put a new converter cover on it as it was missing. This fit perfect, don't know if that helps.51RzU4xnXnL._AC_SL1500_.jpg

Not trying to spoil your efforts at all but that picture is of a 2WD cover that offers no structural integrity and won’t allow for use of the two strut rods ( unless they were deleted when the conversion happened ).

Get us several ( in focus ) pics of the underside of the truck and most importantly the trans and T-case and we can confirm or direct on what ya’ actually got in there.

There are HD cases out there that weren’t drilled for the thick cover, look for bosses visible on top of that flange. If you have the bosses the case can be drilled for the thick cover if you want one, it would be tricky to do in the truck.
