A friend of mine has an 04 2500HD 6.0 4x4 Ext cab, short bed and needs/wants to replace his shocks. Any recommendations for a good shock? Not looking for cheap junk.

Plenty of experience on this board which is why I ask here...

You have to wait or special order them from a parts store. Bilstien 5100 series! My truck rides great. I had the Rancho rs5000 before they were decent but way soft and wore out fast. Pay the extra money get the Bilstiens :thumb: fyi about 450 for all four.

Bilstein HD's if stock. 5100's if lifted.

Rough Country Nitro 9000s if on a bit of a budget.

Was looking at 5100s for my hd today, i ordered 4 of them for it. Ive had superlift oil shocks and fabtech gas shocks.....the fabtechs suck, the superlifts worked nice but didnt last long.

I put a set of the Biltein HD's on my '03 2500HD last winter. Got them during a "buy 3 get the 4th free" deal so they really weren't any more expensive than the other options. They made a big difference in my truck but the stock shocks were trashed also so the difference was bigger than if comparing them to new OEM shocks.
