285 75 16

285/25.4 =11.22 inches wide
11.22x75% = 8.41 inches tall (sidewall height)

So 8.41 x 2 + 16 = 32.83 inches tall

i have talked to some local tire shops around my house and they said they can get them for me from there supplier

so you could ask some tire shops around where you live if they can get them

I drive every day in this vehicle for a living, traveling from location to location. I have severely abused these tires and have been amazed by them. If you are thinking your vehicle will look good with these tire on...well multiply that by 2. IT WILL. When new, they cut through snow and mud like a knife, as they wear(like all tires) that lessens a bit. Great value. You get a high quality tire like the other guys, for a lot less. They will wear quicker than a street tire so dont ever expect to get 50,000 miles out of a SUV off road or AT tire. But what you get in trade is looks and performance....and General has both at a great price. Will buy these again.

Purchased these tires in December 2006. Towed a boat East to West in Rain, Ice, Snow and Slop. Performed flawlessly! Loaded truck & Boat and Drove accross Rockies in the Decembersnow Blizzard. Again Flawlessly! Drove Pacific northwest Rain, Rain, etc. Perfect: Smooth, Excellent Traction, Stopping, and Handeling. Drove off road in CO,ID,OR,& WA No problems at all.Drove thru CA, NV, AZ, NM, TX, in hot to warm at interstate speeds. Perfect! Still plenty of useful tread to go, and they still do Exactly what you expect without worry! Will I get another set? Count on it!

A 305/70/16 is more like a 12.50 x 33 tire. It will most likely rub in the front inner fender wells when turning due to the extra width.

so which one would be good? the 305 by 70s or the 285 by 75? for my truck?? im thinkin the 285 by 75 since my rim width is 7 i think
