Custom built by Bent and Twisted (Chico fab shop, long out of business) around 1998. I miss those guys....
The original design was built around a smaller winch (9k? vs. the current 12k) and looked so much cleaner. On my list of to-dos I do have moving it back an inch or 2.

I was too young to wheel or know about wheeling back then. He ended up selling his U4 rig to my buddy and I think Mike is back in a family LJ now. The wheeling east of chico is awesome! It's quite the secret, I love it.Yeah, I have always wanted to connect with Mike for some of the wheeling east of Chico. Do you remember the big block EB he had? I loved that thing! I did see him at one of the Ultra 4 events in Sac a few years back.

Long, long gone. Think they went down to Florida where the buyer installed them on a military Chevy tug with the ZF axles.I want those tires.
46" Firestone Turf & Field on 16.1" wheels. Unknown width on wheels so can't help thereYou remember what they were?
No skid plate for the tank? I’m surprised it isn’t all Dante’s and scratched up.
Looks good. Any sound bites?
New t-case skid and gas tanks skids are in the works
I like it.
I saw in a post on Shawn's thread about exhaust fumes on your truck. Then I saw the pic above. Dumping straight out the back is the issue for the fumes. Even with the soft top there is a low pressure zone at the back of the truck. The air swirls and actually will come in the back window if it's open. A soft top don't seal tight so I wouldn't be surprised if you had fumes at all.
Dump the exhaust to the side under the quarter panel and it should limit the amount the gets sucked in the back.
That would work.Already thinking of routing the pipes in this space in case I can't get it to work straight out the back. I would like to do something with the existing bumper structure - maybe a pair of nascar-like squares out each side between the 2 parallel tubes. I think they are about 2" spacing.
