2nd EGR Vave in 4 months? WTH?

Its a 1999 Ford Expedition EB with the 5.4 (the wife's ride). 2nd EGR in 4 months. Why?

need more info for help. lots of times its not the egr valve but a wire or sensor or vac line problem. and some older fords had a gray box with 2 special high temp hoses from the exaust manifold that went bad or the little box went bad. pull lines from the box and look for corossion in the tubes. if there get a new one. if your truck has one.

Plugged egr passages and/or an inoperative dpfe (the little gray box sweetk30 made reference to) are far more common failure items than the egr valve itself.
