i have a good 700r4 out of a 2wd suburban, what is required to swap the output shaft to bolt up my np205?should i just sell it and get a 4x4 trans?

You have to tear down the whole tranny. The output shaft is the last thing to come out.

Yep, you have to gut the whole tranny, swap the output shaft and then put it back together. The 2WD tail housing obviously gets tossed.

Yeah, it's most definitely not a job that a first timer should tackle!
