I got a NV4500 for a swap for my 92 Blazer, but don't have the time, money, or space to do it at. Landlord says anything that isn't on a truck has to go. I don't know much about it, I got it on some trading with my buddy who owns a yard. He didn't even know he had it till I found it an old school bus for storing engines/tranny's. I do know it's a 2wd, 1st Gen style. Vaguely remembers it was a 92-93 ECLB deisel truck. There is no shifter or bell housing. It turns over freely, but since there is no shifter can't go through the gears. I haven't done a thing to it since I got it 2 mos. ago. This can be converted to 4wd....

If you can find a shifter for it we can talk

Can't find any local, most havn'et had that case in years, or they have a complete one and won't take anything off of it. New ones look to be aboot $100 or so....but they do pop up on Evilbay....

Any shifter from an '88 up 5 speed truck will work fine. The NV4500, NV3500 and Getrag 5 speed all used the same shifter. I got mine for $5 at a wreckers.

Really?? I can get one for free then!! haha.

Also, I've heard that you can either redrill the trans, or the bellhousing on the older 465s. Anybody heard of that?? Or do you need the NV4500 bell??

Is it just missing the post that screws onto the top, or the entire shift casing? The post is just a straight piece of pipe with threads on the end.

I think its missing just the shifter. IIRC it's sorta like the 465s, take some thing off and the shifter itself comes out. I think, never actually messed with either!!! I'll see if I have pic of what I'm talking aboot.....
