2wd TH400 issue

I have a TH400 in my C30 and it has been sitting for over a year. Sometimes it takes a while to engage into gear (either D or R) and you have to rev the engine to make it lock in. It also will not rev up in gear to accelerate fast, it won't go above 3k rpm. I put some Marvel Mystery Oil in it and will drive it to get it hot, then dump the fluid and hopefully not find any issues in the pan. Could it just be old fluid or is it in need of a rebuild?

Sounds like the pump could be on it's way out, or the converter.

or low on fluid, have u checked to see if its full of atf?

Yes, it was full when I first checked it, now the end of the dipstick broke off and is in the pan, so that's another reason I need to dump the fluid.
