its a 87 srw cc(R20), everywhere i've read they talk about the 2wd trans tunnel is shorter and needs to be addressed. also, i've read all cc's are on a 1 ton frame, which is taller than other frames. will this increase in frame height make the shorter trans tunnel not a problem? do the cc's have a shorter trans hump or do they all have a tall trans hump, regardless of 2wd or 4x4?

i really would like to convert this cc, but another option is pulling the 454 bbc and replacing w/350 sbc & swapping the rearend out for a 14bsf and reselling it for $1k and have a free bbc and spare rear axle. another question, will this truck have a 14bff or a d70, i didn't look at it, b/c at 1st i just wanted the engine? anyone know what rear axle this truck should have in it?

i paid $1k for this super straight srw 2wd cc mainly for the 454, it runs fine, but no brakes for some reason, perfect interior(dash not even cracked, 84k on the odometer, its a silverado)..i'm going to go get it this weekend and i can't make up my mind, if i convert it i have everything to go hydro brakes. i keep thinking about converting it, but i'm torn between converting it or just putting the bbc in my k5. i followed a thread recently where someone converted 1 and it makes me want to do the same. what do ya'll think? these are scarce around here, before some1 says just find a 4x4 cc, especially in this shape & price, and i've already bought it, just torn on what to do as i said.

srw should be a 14bolt I'm getting ready to do this same swap on a 1991 R3500 its not hard to convert them the floor issues can be solved a few ways and you may not need it depends on what tranny hump the truck has now . you may luck out and it has a bolt in style that you can replce with the taller manual trans and 4x4 tunnel
