My 89 k5 has a 3/4 axle swap previous owner did out of an mid 80s suburban I believe , question is when ordering a lift kit would I got with the 89 1/2 ton k5 lift kit or a mid 80s suburban 3/4 ton lift kit ... Seems like the 3/4 ton burban lift kits are cheaper than the 1/2 ton k5 kit ... For example 4 inch lift all spring from rough country is about 100 difference from the 3/4 ton burb and 1/2 ton k5 if I recall correctly ... So is there any difference between the lift kits and what would you all suggest I go with when the time comes ? Thanks

If it's going in a K5 I'd get the one for the K5. IIRC some suburban's got 56" rear springs, but all K5's got 52" rear springs. Unless you want the longer 56" springs for your K5.

How much loft are you trying to get? If it's just 4" and your rear springs are in decent shape you could just do a shackle flip in the rear and get new 4" lift springs for the front. Along with longer shocks and brake lines.

I am wanting to do a 4 inch lift with 37s ... I like the idea of the shackle flip but I'm kinda leaning toward all spring lift been looking at bds and ord tuff country gonna save up some more first ,... I just sold my rc 6 in lift decided to go a different route . Thanks again

If you have 3/4 ton axles under it now, order the lift kit for a 3/4 ton, otherwise they'll send you the wrong U-Bolts.

I did that with mine, had 3/4 ton setup, but ordered for the 1/2 ton status that my truck actually is. Had to wait for them to ship new U-bolts.
