hey all, I wa wondering if there is any benefit to this swap? has anyone done it? What power can you get out of the 4bt reliably and still have a good mpg.
Crewcab59 you got a pm coming :D

There are some that have done it.
I like the cummins better than the 6.2 for crawling, I like the 6.2 more for highway driving, a V8 can go higher RPMs so with regular trannies it's nicer to drive, but for off road I will always go with a straight 4 or 6.

The only advantage I see is getting rid of the 6.2. Oh yeah & the 6.2 will be replaced with a real diesel. An OD tranny would make it a lot more drivable.

Well for one the 3.9 4 banger is capable of a lot more power. I hear it can make 300HP/650ft lbs or so with some modifications, thats a lot more than a 6.2 can make with a turbo and other mods.
