Anyone have a 3" body lift on a truck like my 97 with a 5 speed? Does the hole for the shifter need to be modified? And the transfer case shift linkages, do they need to be modified? I have gottn mixed oppinions on both so I figure Ill ask here b4 I buy the BL.

I have a 3" BL and although I can't speak for the tranny (since mine is an auto) I can tell you I have a heck of a time keeping my TC in 4hi since it just barely engages now... everything else works but due to the BL you can't get the stick back far enough and it likes to pop out...

I know in Avery's case the makers usually say you might need to trim the hole a bit to allow full engagement. Sounds like the original installer didn't do that.

Yep... I'm going to slice the floor up this week before we go to pismo next weekend...

I just removed on from my 95 2 door Tahoe with a 5 speed. I had no problems with either shifter. The only noticable difference at all is the lower tranny shifter height and the compressed shifter boot. My 4wd shifter did not have to be modified at all and shouldn't as it is floor mounted not t-case mounted. If you can't keep it in gear you need to adjust the linkage. It is threaded and can take up the difference. I recently upgraded to a NV4500 and same story when the lift was on.

Just exactly what I wanted to hear. I have delt with automatic and a body lift and transfer case shifter and body lift but never a standard transmission shifter. Thanx man.
