30 spline 10 bolt and 30 spline D44 interchange?

Are the 30 spline 10 bolt and 30 spline dana 44 completely different axles? Is there some interchange of parts?

I'm probably confused by what I've read about the 10 bolt being the GM version of the Dana 44. Maybe they were meaning comparable, not version...

I ask because I have some 30 spline D44 ARB lockers, just wondering if these can be installed into a GM 10 bolt axle.

Any one know for certain?

Only things that interchange is everything from the knuckles out. The axles, ring gear, carrier, housing do not interchange.

Forgot, Stub shafts and U-joints interchange...

I was hoping there would be more interchange but oh well.

I guess now I will have to sell them to buy a D60 ARB. I can't see swapping in a D44 just to use the locker. If I'm going to bother with it I might as well go with the D60 and make the swap worthwhile.

Just out of curiosity, what is the going price range on a D44 front axle these days?

Is the 10 bolt the same strength as the D44?

Other than the housing and tubes, they are the same strength.
