I know I'll need a new adapter but is that all I need or do I need a new output shaft for the 205??

I think this and good . http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/465spacer.htm

better ask them tho .

and your fig 8 t-case needs 32 spline input . and not sure if short or long . again better ask them .

That's exactly right. You use the 10 spline (figure 8 style, 84 and older) adapter plus our spacer and the lengths work out right. The 205 case does need to have the short 32 spline input in it.

prob should add that info to the page on the ord site .

I've broken my NP205 multiple times. I've never blown an NP208 up. I replaced a loose chain once.

Got pics of the broken 205?

Stopped me dead in my tracks.

I have bent a 30 spline front output shaft before. And have seen a few fail, but seen just as many 208s fail as well. It really does come down to personal preference.

There was plenty of oil. It still is coated in oil in the picture. NP205's are ok, they are just wildly overated.

I'd still choose a 205 over any 208 or 241 any day.

I'm going to run twin stick that's why I'm using the 205 and hopefully eventually when I have some more money saved up going to a doubler, but that's down the road

So why not save the NP205 for the doubler, instead of spending money twice to make it work?

Also, lower gears are far and away more useful than twin sticks ever will be.
