Wanaa sell me your 33's?

Sure, less the rims. I just polish them last weekend, mall crawler, I know. They still have about 60% tread on them. If interested i'll take pics of the tread. How would you get them? Surely not ups them? Being the nice guy that I am for the right price I could even meet you in El Centro, CA. area? Let me know if you are serious. Or just PM me:waytogo:

Where is that at? UPS shipping is about $40 a tire, we could meet at the border? Hahaha

El Centro is just south of the Salton Sea near brawly and Glamis Dunes. The border, can you say donky show, or the Arizona/Cali border? I didn't think Hippy Lettus grew too well in the AZ desert.:D
Whatever it may be we can work something out.

Well I dont have the money right now, I am doing my exhaust and stuff right now so I will PM you in a few weeks if I have money.

Any poics of the current work or your rig in general? Let's see. Post up.

I should do a build thread or something, I will post sooon. I bought it about a month ago, havent done alot but am in the process of installing my lift kit, I just replaced the vaccum advance today, I am changing it to a 3" exhaust, installing a new cam and lifters and everything, possibly a rear shackle flip n switch, and tires are on the end of that list.

Well i didnt go with the Dakota A/Ts..

We had the place i used to work at order in some 285/75/16 Nitto TerraGrapplers.. Ill post pics tomorrow! Out the door price of 650! 139/tire.. Discount tire direct has them 135 shipped. I had to spent 4 hours removing mud out of places i didnt even know existed...our driveway has a nice sandy coloured layer of top soil now!

I will hopefully go out this weekend and piss around in some mud and loose dry dirt... but im kind of busy so it may have to wait. I need to get my truck going so i can make a test run at an upcoming mud runner event...a guy owns like 30 acres and lets people wheel it, each year on Good Friday they get a ton of rigs going up.. Supposedly gonna be 200-300 rigs coming plus Dennis Anderson+ Ryan Anderson and Sonuva Digger. I dont know if hell bring Grave digger. Hopefully some other local monster trucks coming too.. id like to see Wild Hair and The Undertaker show up. Ill be towing my Jimmy with the Z71 up there if all goes as planned..my mother will be wheeling the z71 ill be in the k5. Im not gonna be doing anything deep or serious in the k5 though yet. Specially with the new transmission.

Also-

What ya think?
Its actually on bricks... suspension uncompressed. Im thinking it will look awesome witha 2 or 3 inch lift.

Hey mindless, I know you weren't planning on it until later, but pro comps are on sale buy 3 get 1 free until March 31st. They carry them at 4 wheel parts warehouse and Valley Spring Center. I'm going to be getting some 315/75/R16 Pro Comp Mud Terrains. I did a little research and according to most the all terrains are smoo, but the mud terrains are pretty nice. They have alot of sipping for muds, so they should be easier to handle, but still have the benefits of a mudder. I've always done 33x12.50 BFG A/Ts on my trucks, and never been disappointed, but I'm up for something new, and they are cheaper. Good luck with whatever you pick.

Will be putting them into the mud and trail next week sometime... Kinda busy right now.

Were going to raise the torsion bars an inch, and put those add a leafs in..might trim a tiny bit of fender/air dam too. They handled great coming home from the shop (put 40-45 miles on em today), did great in loose gravel and tiny thin mud that i went through today. Ill take pics and vids when i take them on the trails.

Great Dane Goober

Im thinking about selling the old ones on Craigslist for 40 or 50 bucks...they have 4-5/32nds left so they are good for 1000-2000 more miles before becoming illegal.

Go as big as you can afford. I went 35s and wish I went with 38s. Pro Comp MTs have great treadlife. are not too noisy, and have been pretty good so far. I went playin around in deep sand on the beach and didnt have any probs.

Also they have the buy 3 get one free a couple times a year. You can buy 4 and get a free spare.

Hijack: Hey AFUFO, you should have been a member/more active last year. I just left Virginia Beach and could have used someone to go wheelin with a little before I left!

oh well @ tx..
The k5 still dosent run, anyway..
Wheeling my moms truck for now =D Its been lifted an inch and on 285/75s.
You comin back or what? where ya located now?

And as far as going as big as can afford? why is this?? 38s mean you need new axles, gears... I know some daily drivers around here are cruising on 40s with 10bolts but they never see more than a light pothole. True he has 12b/44..
If goes to 33s he may not need to regear depending on whats stock with his truck.. 35s you can count on a regear though, but able to stick with stock axles and maybe higher strength axle shafts etc if he starts breaking them(probably not). If you dont wheel too hard id think theyd be fine..

Anyway... I aggree that procomps a good tire too for all over.. but torquey rigs bury themselfs in loose soft sand

Oh, I doubt I will go back up there. I will be headed to my new duty station in Key West tomorrow. Been in Pensacola for a few months at school.

I wasnt telling him to go with 38s, just wishing I had. With 35s regearing is NOT mandatory. Neither is an axle swap. I know many people down in TX and on this board who run 35s with stock gearing, in stock axles. Not the most desirable in the performance, gas mileage, and puts extra strain on the tranny, but it still works. My uncle's K5 has been on a 4" lift and 35" Buckshot mudders for over 15 years (not the same set of tires obviously), and that truck has been through hell and back with no probs with drivetrain.

A/Ts may be better in the deep sand, but with driving finesse even with a torquey motor you will be fine with MTs. I had a built 350 that had gobs of low end and did fine. A/Ts may be better for him if he knows he wont be getting into trails or much mud. Whatever tire you decide, stay away from Savero tires. They are crap.

After reading through it again, A/Ts would be a better bet for what you want to do. If you go with an offbrand tire maker, be sure to research them first. Some tires are made by big name companies under a different name, but some are just garbage.

Yeah the MT's look alot more agressive, but I was worried they would work well in sand and loose dirt, I live in AZ and its all loose dirt haha
Go to a Desert Race, like SCORE, and almost everyone runs MT. They work great in the desert.

Here is what has happened since my previous post on htis thread. I'm getting BFG AT's in 35" for my 72 blazer. 4WPW had them for $880 OTD. Then I checked Discount Tire/Americas Tire (same company) and they were $846.00 OTD but were out of stock, thankfully. Then I went to Costco and they had the same exact everything for $703 OTD, DAMN! Got them on order and will have them on my Blazer next Saturday. Looks like I'm buying more than a 64oz tube of tooth paste from them.

Dang man.. Wish i had known costco had them that cheap, probably would of been around the same price for the Z71's 16 inch rim.

We have our Nittos and we are loving them so far.. They have the softest rubber me my family and friends have ever seen! This means more traction, but less treadlife..

And i found out today that the tires squeel like big rigs (deep roar), and not eeeerk like those ricarony car tires. Thats a plus for me even though it wont be happening much...hopefully!

BTW TX, i said count on regearing because my truck has 2.73s.. id much rather have a 3.73.. Im on 35s and i think this is why my TH350 died.

I am thinking 33" MT's would look good, I heard my truck would feel gutless with 35s? I really dont want to regear...
