35 with a four inch lift

two questions.

1 - I understand the logic behind the snorkel and the cool air. Cool air, more dense, more combustion, more power etc. BUT, why do I see so many people running open elements? It seems to me the design of the snorkel is pretty restrictive.

2 - There are a few pictures that people have linked to that I can't open. It says I don't have access. Can anyone put those pictures in the body of the thread?

Cheers for all the help.

I don't know why some folks feel the need to run an open element, unless they just like the sound. :cool1:

Look at the size of the venturis, then compare that to the size of the snorkel. You can get plenty of air in via the snorkel. If you really want to get nuts about it, you can set it up as a dual intake like this:

actually the Procomp seem to ride nicer than my dunlop 235x85 16" tires did, the 35s in a 17" is alot more friendly for highway driving than in a 15" due to the reduced sidewall, but i have yet to air them down offroad, i have heard they have poor sidewall strength.

getting my truck back from the shop today, my buddy and I put the lift on last night. Tire shop messed up and only three of my tires came in, so I will be out there tomorrow to get them installed. I will post up some pictures.

Thanks for all who posted.
