350 clacking

Put this stuff in, drug a magnet through the oil and found nothing. Let it idle/run for about 10-15 minutes and no noise. Oil pressure was around 40 went up with gas and idled around high 20-30 at 800ish rpm idle.

... thanks @Bent77 and especially the Chevy guru @Wes Harden for helping me along today.

Hopefully this thicker oil works, because thicker chicks certainly don't!!!

You guys think I post a lot? ask
@Wes Harden how many texts he got today.

Just wondering why the Lucas 10w30 didn't provide good oil pressure when warm at idle. 1 txt I got from @TJ1978, says 20 psi at idle of 800 rpm. That's when the noise occurred.
The valve lash didn't seem to be off. I suppose if the builder used some high pressure valve springs, it could bleed the last lifter on the galley down. It did appear to #1 exhaust valve making the noise. The springs don't seem to be anything extra special. Possibly an example and argument for 0 lash and 1 full turn. I have never had an issue at 1/2 turn.

Cold start today and that clacking noise was loud especially under the truck. It's a consistent tick... I put the rubber hose in the PCV slot and you can hear ticking... but it loud and inconclusive where exactly it's coming from. Idle seemed a little clunky at 750-800.. it was fine yesterday...

Anyway, fug this truck.. I'm so tired of it.
I may just have it towed to shop and have them blow it up or fug with it. I'm at my wits-end and don't have the experience to make it right..

I'm predicting a bad lifter, or lifters. It's epidemic, and it has nothing to do with the skill of the engine builder, or how exact the cam break in was done. These flat tappet lifters out today are like playing Russian Roulette 16 times in a row. The occasional ones are not hardened properly (or at all), but most common is they are machined dead flat on the bottom, instead of slightly crowned. When they're dead flat, they do not spin...and then they fail. First it's a small tick, so you re-adjust the valves thinking you must have messed up a little. It's quiet again, but then the tick comes back...because the lifter is destroying itself.

Yeah I sent 16 lifters back to summit. Be cause the image showed the hardening part line and liters didn't have it. Melling, somewhere around $8 a piece.
Really sucks can't tell what your gonna get, and stupid $8 lifter can destroy your whole engine

This is what I was afraid of but knew would most likely be the issue. I've seen countless videos and threads in regards to those. A few videos again Kerri or myvintageiron7512 said he will no longer make or use flat tappets in anything going forward...

To make matters more frustrating, yesterday after talking with my neighbor, I said hey listen to this..
Started the truck and nothing, no noise whatsoever. This was after it sat a few hours after I ripped the shit out of it around the block for 10-15min.

When I get home I'm going to fire it up and pray to the lifters gods it's not ticking... because prior to that and @Wes Harden can back-up my statement that after every adjustment yesterday and the day before if ticked instantly after adjusted and reaching operating temperature. But it failed to do so after I really got on the gas pedal.
