I have the chance to buy a fresh rebuilt 350 from a truck that was wrecked. I have searched on the web to find what horsepower the engine would be with no luck.

The donor is a 1985 Chevy G30 1 ton cube van with auto transmission, 350 with 4bbl carb. Can anyone help me with the Horsepower

Thank You
Paul

If its a gm crate replacement, it'll be about 220hp/300tq or it could be the 290hp/326tq crate. If it is a home rebuilt job, there is no way to give a guess with out more info. It'll be like a guess how many jellybeans are in a jar game.

The owner tells me he had a local machine shop in his area rebuild it to factory specs. I would doubt there was more than one 350/hp used in the 1985 G30 Cube van ??

factory for a 1985 3/4 ton truck was 165 hp and 275 tq for a 350 engine...I would think the van would be pretty similar if not exact.
Those are SAE net hp (as installed with accessories). Many crate engines are rated SAE gross or brake hp at the flywheel; 25-30% more than installed.
