350 wont start I believe it's a carburetor issue

Pouring gas into the carb can only work for a few tries. Remember, all that gas is running past your rings into your oil. Like Scibbles said, starter fluid! Did you look into the carb to see if gas was being injected into the engine? Beauty of a carb is you can see it squirting inside the carb.
no I didnt I'm not sure where to look. I think it's the first two holes. Yea I need to change the oil then. I've been thinking about running a mechanical fuel pump instead.

Unless you’ve been dumping loads of fuel in it I wouldn’t worry about the oil as long as it shows good on the dipstick. Figure out how to get it running before you waste fresh oil on an unkown motor.

An easy way to check for fuel is to look down the throat of the carb and move the throttle linkage, you should see/hear the accelerator pump working.

You can fill the carb float bowl thru the air vent tube at the top of the carb, using a small funnel or a piece of hose in a bottle..then if it'll start it will run about a minute or more instead of just a few seconds..air vent on carb.jpg

After the bowl is full you should be able to see gas squirting into the venturi's when you move the throttle or pump the gas pedal,if the carb's accelerator pump works..

Thanks guys I'll give a try soon when I get some time off work. So hott outside right now when I work on it feels like I'm gonna pass out. Thanks for the info tho.

Must he nice my ac runs day and night to keep it cool. We been in the high 90s all week.

could be ignition module
use starting fluid instead of gasoline...if it doesn't run at least a few rounds with starting fluid it has an ignition problem...

Yea that's what I'm thinking. When I bought the motor it didn't have a distributor. I used the old one of the other engine that went bad. The cap was bad melted a hole into it. I bought another cap I'm thinking off. It did have spark tho I put a screw driver number 1 wire shocked the shit of me lol. I've seen people do it and it just shoots a spark lol no rubber handle on the screwdriver.
