Hi all,
Would love to hear some input on my 1988 K5 Factory sm465 Silverado Project
I recently bought a donor 1987 Suburban R20 Travel Quest XL Suburban with a tbi 454 with an automatic tranny. In the process of taking the big block out of the burb and trying to come up with a parts list for the swap. Both trucks are a/c power steering as far as accessories are concerned.
Here are a couple of things I'm wondering about...
What parts do I need to keep from the suburban?
Do I need to buy a new flywheel or will the one from the 350 work?
Is the clutch kit for bbc same as small block for sm465 - I have one left over from a few years back I never installed when it had the 350
Will the motor mounts work from the 2wd suburban into 4wd blazer?
I'm planning on using the larger radiator from the burb
Are there any other factors I should keep in mind when doing the swap?
Thanks!
P.S. If anyone knows any more about the travel quest xl conversion I'm curious to know the history behind it. Not too much online about it.
