I swapped a 383 stroker from my 81 Burb in to a 91 Burb that has a TBI on it. Wanting to get better fuel mileage I decided to put the TBI on the 383, thats how I found this site to begin with. I swapped the cam and intake with the Edelbrock TBI performer manifold and cam. I bored out the intake to 2 inches because I planned on using a 454 throttlebody ( from junkyard ) instead of paying $$$ to have a 350 one bored out. I changed the arm so it will work with my 700 tranny. I installed an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and installed a gage. So for my initial startup i installed the 350 injectors in the 454 throttlebody I have a better fuel pump but can't install it till I get the truck running so I can back it in the driveway and drop the tank. I live where I have an HOA and they complain about everything. I installed a heated O2 sensor besides the wideband down in the collector after the headers.
Now you are up to speed with what is going on. The wide band I bought to put on my GN but haven't installed it yet, so I will use it here for tuning purposes.
So today I went to start it and it backfired thru the throttlebody so I had to pull the distributor and rotate it 180*. I unpluged the tan wire with blk. stripe so I can set the timing. It started up and I ran it for about a minute while I set the timing to 0* Wide band reading was 14.7 to 15.2 fuel pressure was 11 psi. and idle was at 1200 to 1250 rpm. I shut it off to check for leaks. Then I let it run for about a half an hour or so and let it heat up, made sure the windstar fans came on. I think the 205* temp switch is a little high if you ask me. When it warmed up wide band read 14.5 the fuel pressure was at 11 psi and the idle was at around 1100 rpm.
Fingers are tired, will post more later.
