I saw them on the Ultimate Adventure trucks, and I've seen them on the BFG site as "Coming Soon"...

I thought I remembered hearing that they were supposed to be introduced in early 2006? Does anyone have info.....

No info on that, but I hear there is a 15.1 205 gear set coming out soon, if that helps any:haha:

I doubt that since BFG is still threatening sponsored teams for selling used ones.

Have you checked into Maxxis tires rather than BFG? They come in 35's to 40's......just a thought. 2 kinds....trepadores and creepy crawlers

Yet another Ultimate Adventure has come and gone.....and once AGAIN, BFGoodrich has provided the folks with sets of 39" Krawlers for the event.

Yet I have still not seen anything about general availability. Weren't these supposed to be out by early Summer 2006????

Post up if you've got the G2 or even rumor mill info... :deal:

As far as I knew the Maxxis wasn't out yet in the 39.5 either. Maybe they released it without me paying attention.

I just looked at Maxxis's website and they do have the 40" variety out now but they are $$$. I heard they were going to do a 39.5 but apparently it turned into 40's. I will probably run 38-40" Creepy on my next project which is a buggy. I hope by the time that I build the buggy though they have dropped in price some.

Maybe if BFG and some of the other companies come out with more 40" tires the competition in the marketplace will go up and the price of the 40" non-swamper tires will go down.

Just called 4WPW since they show the 39" in their ads now....no info on delivery times or pricing as of today 10/10/06.

I don't know what the holdup is.... :dunno:

Greg, I checked into this for you. Unfortunately, it's not good news. Our contact at BFG told me last week that there are NO plans to sell the tire retail at all. This looks to be a tire that BFG will put on "comp only" rigs. You can get very close to it with the new MT made for a 22" wheel. The tread pattern is almost identical, but I'm not sure how well DUBs would work for wheelin' :D

I'll snap a pic of the new 22" MT next time I am at the warehouse.

Weird.....why would they go to the trouble of getting it DOT-certified if it's for competition only? Or perhaps they lost interest in doing the DOT version???

Maybe I will have to look at Maxis or whomever....

the silver bronco lives on the other side of town, want me to make him an offer for you?

Sorry to dig up a somewhat old thread but I just saw on BFG's website that as of November 22, 2006 they are producing the 39" Krawler. Now things may have changed since then but if you go to the Offroad section you will see that they talk about some UROC drivers and in their announcement area it says they are available.

Amen....... Seems like everytime i find a size i like, i need a second mortgage on the house just to afford 1.

crawlers are cool and all... but everything I have seen says they cost eleventy billion dollars per tire or some poop. I don't see any reason to spend over $250-300 for a 40" tire, I don't care how much traction it provides. Maybe if they quit giving away gazillion of tires via sponsorships, Joe Six Pack could afford them? I dunno... :dunno:
