4.10 carrier **update with pics**

the pics you posted are of 14sf rear.
I got one under my truck, that aint a 14sf. Plus, theres only 12 bolts on the cover, its a GM 12 bolt axle I do believe.

First of all thats a GM 12 bolt axle...Count the number of cover bolts, doesnt add up to 14 so that eliminates the 14SF Id say.

Second Dana 60 is a 9.75" ring gear so those gears you bought wouldnt fit a Dana 60 axle either. Its probably a ring gear from a 14SF which is 9.5"

sorry brain is friyed:tongue1: . long crappy week.:what: yes i have been corrected:deal: . its a 12 bolt. i bow out to the ck5 masters with this one:ignore: . i guess i am just dumb :screwy: . i will go hide in my corner now:whistle: .

There she is...

The trusty 12 bolt...3.08's are the most common gear....

You should have listened in your earlier threads...you're new bro's were tryin to help. ;)

Not a ten bolt, and yet not a 14 bolt. I don't really think they're good or bad, just ok. Mine hasn't given me any trouble, but I'm getting rid of it just cause I don't trust c-clips.

The gears came out of a 1971 C20 dana60.

You can see the "60" in the lower right corner.

So a 12 bolt is an ok axel... not really good...but not a 10 bolt... right?

With the amount of hp's...I'd look for a 14bff...with 4.10 gears.
Go 3/4 ton or use TonyP.'s 6 lug adapters.
I broke axles...fried a couple 12b's with 3.73's in them.
that's my .02.

Check the junk yards, they are littered with Furd D60's - and cheap too....

Some of the Furd versions have larger bearings in them than a GM equivalent.

I am glad I was slow selling you the 4.10 carrier and gears. I would have felt bad sending you something you can't use.... :waytogo:
