I called countless places for a 14 bolt ff with 4.56s and no one can find them... a shop told me they can get me a complete 4.10 14 bolt but idk how the trans will take that. any knowledge?

I can probably hook you up with one with 4.56's if you want to come to central Pa. I have 4.10's and 37's now. It is ok on the highway but it lacks some in town. I support OPEC so I am going to toss 5.13's in soon.

I have 14 FF , 4:56 and 38's and I have a switch on my lock up becuse I cant use it on the highway, I need at least 5:13 :doah:

I have 4.10s with 37s and it is a dog in OD but it spins alittle high on the highway in 3rd. I will be going with 5.38s or 5.13s when I regear. If I were to do it all over again I would have gone 5.13s from the start (they did not make 5.38s when I built mine).

I have 4.10's and 37's with a 5.7 TBI, 350 turbo, and 205. in high 2 wd a little doggy, but good for high speed. I have a twin sticked transfer case so I can use low 2 wheel drive. Tranny has held up well for me. A cooler would be good, along with maintenence.

I am willing to drive to pa - how much and some come with detroits - do these

i got 410s and 38s and as far as im concerned its perfect. feels almost stock. i think its just a hair under cause the speedo is like 2mph off. also helps if you got the drivetrain to turn the tires.

my first truck had a 305 273 gears and 38s so needless to say that was horrible

That depends, mine had 4.10's and 30's stock so the 4.10's with 36's does not feel like stock. I am going 4.56's with 38's and thats a stretch but i also tow with it.

I'm glad I drive a stick... 3.73's and 36's are lovely highway and town.

I feel like I've wandered onto bizarroCK5.com. Or is this all sarcasm?

The web wheelers and web mechanics tend to get carried away with axle gears. There is also a big difference whether you have an overdrive tranny or not.

4.10's with 37+" tires is not bad at all on the highway if you have a non-overdrive tranny. Sure, you lose some off the line grunt but it gives you decent cruising rpms. With true 37's and 4.10's you are spinning 2,400 rpm at 65 mph which is almost perfrect. 5.13's will put you at 3,000+

I've personally ran 4.10's with 13/38 (closer to a 37" tire) and 39.5's and in direct drive (I have a 700r4 but keep it in D on the highway) and it's quite happy in the 55-65 mph range.

I run 37's & 4.10's with a 465 trans and I'm quite happy with it

what tranny? if 700r4, dont use overdrive and ull be fine on the highway, it has a deeper first gear so its a little better off the line than the other non-overdrive trannys. if you got a th400/th350/sm465 then itll be fine on the tranny, but wont have the balls most people want off the line.
