I worked on it quite abit the past week. I did a lot of cleaning and mapping out where to cut off the rockers....

I have also been stitching the outside..... and planning the fab on the inside......

Just read your thread, nice build! I just got started on my Suburban, I have a 89 with a rusted body and a 86 2WD with barn doors and a nice body. Hoping to just swap the two over, would you know off hand if the body mounts are the same? They look like it to me and I know I have to get or fab a different trans tunnel, if you have any info on this I'd appreciate it, definitely subscribed to your thread!

Ther is no difference between Suburbans.

I assume you meant to say that one was 4wd.

The trans tunnels are definitely different among the models. I just cut around the one from my donor 4wd Blazer and then I am gonna drill out the welds n my Suburban and then spot weld the 4wd tunnel in.

About time you got your butt in gear. Congrats on the ROCKS!!! Have you done anymore sheetmetal work? I want to see some more interior pics. And every little detail on the rocks. I don't know much about rocks, so watching your rebuild could be some good education. Where are you going to get your wheels from? What kind of brakes are you going to run? Lockers? C'mon details, details.

Sorry bout the double post, but that front rock def, has custom perches. Are they already setup for a chevy front or sumthing?

Dude I found those on ebay for $10 and just snagged them. Those are stock perches and they fit right over the dowels in the top of the axle tubes......

YES it is tit to own Rocks.

I have seen rocks in person a hundred times, but when you get your own they look HUGE!

Thanks alot! I just ordered new Poly body mounts, Aluminum 1" Body lift, and 8" 52" springs for the front from ORD.

I have almost bought every product that I need from ORD!
