I have a 90 Jimmy. I found a set of 1 tons from a military truck. The spring perches, U bolts, and shackle flip are on the way and I have a set of wheels. Other than the tires and springs, what parts should I have coming? Will the regular 1/2 ton steering arm work on the Dana 60? :dunno: :D

No it's a different arm totally. The 1/2 and 3/4 ton arm uses 3 studs, the d60 uses 4 studs. I just swapped a d60 into my crew cab today.

OK, that is exactly the kind of info I need. There is now a thread in the "wanted" section of the classifieds. Should I replace the front shackles while I am replacing the springs? Do the 60's brakes take a different brake line than the 1/2 and 3/4 ton units?

I think as long as the caliper / line is the same MM or SAE size, it will work. I know some stuff is metric and some stuff is sae.

The 10B lines should go on the 60. The D44 used different lines I believe. Well actually just the banjo bolt is different, but on a 90 you should be fine. Mine swapped over from my 10b to my 60.

Are you planning on crossover, or are you looking for a raised arm? Crossover should be on your to-do list if the type of wheeling you do requires a 60!

I honestly dont know if I really need the 60 anymore as I like to think that I have calmed down a bit in the last 10 years. I know I broke 2 10 bolt rears, a 12 bolt rear, and a 10 bolt front in my 88 and it never had anything bigger than 33's on it.:D This truck is going to have 35's at first and hopefully 37's later down the road. I am planning on a crossover setup but I want to get all this under the truck and driving before I spend any more money! What is my most cost effective way of hooking up the steering on this Dana 60?

The drag link will work on it. I have a 6" lift so I bought a steering arm block to raise the arm to compensate for the lift. I'm gonna go crossover later down the road.
