4\" lift and driveshaft question

I've installed a ORD flip with stock springs and a 1" zero rate on my 82 K5. 4" TC springs and 1" zero rates will go up front. Will I have to drop the t-case for driveline issues? If degree shims are needed, where can I buy some, and how/where do they go installed /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

This is my first attempt to swap axles and install a lift myself. No previous experience.

Re: 4\" lift and driveshaft question

why not get the degre you need already cut in the zero rate tonyp on the socal site sells them.

Re: 4\" lift and driveshaft question

I had to drop my tcase a good inch or so. My rear lift blocks are degreed a bit but did not help. My driveline would start complaining, real loud, upon deceleration. Tried lots of things but the only thing that worked was dropping the tcase...

I bit the bullet and got a CV shaft , but then again I drive mine to work everyday /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Re: 4\" lift and driveshaft question

Already installed the zero rates I bought from ORD.

What did you use to drop the t-case, washers??

Re: 4\" lift and driveshaft question

you can use the little spacers that are on top of the frame but it is better to use like a 1" piece of square tubing so that it spreads the stress /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Re: 4\" lift and driveshaft question

I did what 85mudblazin said with the spacers...

pauly383k10 - I did the same thing and purchased a cv shaft. I put it on and it vibrated like crazy... I took it back and they rebalanced it... It was better but still vibrates... It has been sitting in storage for a couple years now /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif
